What is the Atelier?

Lil's Atelier is intended as a place where good manners and real discussion meet and mix it up with wicked humour, surreality and a dose of role-playing. Lil rented the upper floor of Crater Labs Inc. which is run by Afgncaap5 and Garius Lupus. It was only a two-room garrett when she moved in, but as Garius and Affi have steadily expanded their operations downstairs, so the atelier's floor space has grown and remains beyond Lil's ability to use it all. The latest additions are a set of craft workshops used by salonistas, and a hot tub.

The story of the maidbots is complicated and a little sad.

First there was Minoova, created by Garius to look a little saucy after the manner of a Fernch maid. This proved to be too much of a temptation for one researcher (who shall not be named). To everyone's great surprise, Minoova suddenly took on a life of her own — she had been registered as an independent researcher and was no longer Lil's creation! Unfortunately, the researcher had not studied Minoova's character before executing the botjacking, and he was soon found out and pursued across several fora before agreeing to relinquish his double existence.

Minoova had to be retired, and CLI brought out Matina to replace her. Matina is Greek in appearance, and she rules the kitchen. What with the increase in guest facilities, Lil decided that Matina needed help with laundry and cleaning, and so Afgncaap5 invented a new kind of bot to handle these more limited chores.

The maid-of-all-workbot is Chloe. She is not easy to see because Affi made her out of transluminyte, and unless someone puts Odra's walkman headphones on Chloe's head (causing her to glow green), she goes about her business largely unseen by guests. We have found that she also flares within range of Munchkin's waistcoats. Affi built creativity into her personality, and she is turning out lovely watercolours on occasion.

House Pets

The atelier also has its share of pets, technically h2g2 creations. Mindspring is Lil's pet unau (two-toed sloth), a docile and affectionate creature unless someone feeds her a doughnut, in which event she becomes quite hyperactive. Springie tapdances. She is greatly loved by Titania, who never fails to give her a cuddle during her visits. For Christmas 2001, Lil gave Titania an unau of her own, which Titania named Ripley. Lil also has several horses, first among which is the black Andalusian named Ferrari.

Garius has a parrot named Pierrot, a bird with a waspish sense of humour and a passion for Matina's mbougatses. We keep a window open for him so that he can come and go as he pleases.
