Bonito Valley Artworks is situated in the historic hamlet of Lincoln, New Mexico (population about 50). Its proprietor, Sandra Smith, has been professionally involved in the computer business for over twenty-five years, and in computer graphics since the 1980's. Sandra is webmaster for a number of artists and art galleries in Lincoln County, and is secretary of the Lincoln Historic Preservation Board.

Sandra holds a degree in Philosophy with subsidiaries in English and Computer Studies from the University of Birmingham in Edgbaston, England (B.A. II(i)) and has completed numerous training courses in programming languages. She has lived and worked in England and Greece as well as her native country, the United States, and has been a professional riding instructor, secretary, housewife, staff agency interviewer, hospital administrator and care-giver as well as a programmer. Now she works in her first loves, art and image restoration.

BVA began strictly as a restoration service, but as Sandra has taken studio courses in the Fine Arts she has branched into giclée printing and fine art photography. She is constantly studying art and digital print management in order to stay abreast of trends and technology in the business.
